Regular readers of my blog may have been following my photo series introducing my makeup collection which is stored within this handy little storage unit from Ikea called the Helmer….
As you can see the top drawer is devoted to my lip products and is divided into various different colourways. So far I have featured the reds and the pinks, so this week will be devoted to my purple and plum lipsticks.
I was actually really suprised by how few purple and plum lipsticks I own because I absolutely love these shades and wear them a lot in the autumn/winter time.
This is my favourite lipstick of all time, just look at the packaging. It comes from the Mac LE Archies Girls (Veronica) Collection and is in the shade Daddies Little Girl. I am not going to lie, I bought this lipstick for the unbelievably cute packaging but luckily I really like the shade. It is a satin formula so is really creamy to apply and although the lipstick itself does start to wear off after a couple of hours, the stain it leaves on the lips lasts more like six, which makes it perfect for a night out.
Another all time favourite of mine is the aptly named Flat Out Fabulous which I reviewed in detail here.
And no Purple and Pink Lipstick Collection would be complete without the beauty bloggers favourite – Mac’s Plumful which I reviewed in full here.
I had never heard of the Lola makeup range until I came across it in M&S. I did a bit of research and discovered it is a British designed brand developed for make up artists. I really liked the packaging so picked up a couple of pieces including the Matte Longlasting Lipstick in the shade 100 – Vamp. I have to say this is possibly the mattest matte lipstick I have ever tried so I can only wear it when my lips are in tip top condition but if you are looking for a dramatically dark lip for autumn, then look no further – this is the ultimate!
The last lipstick in my purple and pink section is another limited edition, this time from the Heirloom Mix collection. Who could resist a Mac lipstick in a glitter tube? Definitely not me. I chose the shade Tribalist which is a very similar shade to Vamp but in an amplified finish so it has a less intense, creamier finish which makes it much more wearable. I quite often wear this in daytime applied lightly then blotted down for a lovely stained berry look.
I always wear a lipliner with a bolder lip and this one is my pencil of choice for purple and plum lipsticks. I know there are lots of dupes out there which are much more purse friendly but for me this is worth spending that little bit extra on. It really is a chameleon of a colour which perfectly adapts to any berry shade, invisibly correcting my wonky lip shape and keeping my lipstick in place for EVER.
So those are all of my purple and plum lipsticks – what do you think? Is your berry favourite amongst them?
