The Perfect Nude – Stark Naked by Urban Decay

People talk about finding the perfect nude but for me there are more than one. For summer daytime looks I love to wear peachy nudes with a satin finish, whilst in the evenings I prefer very pale sheer pinks. In Autumn my preferences change again and I tend to go for tawnier shades – last years favourite was Velvet Teddy from Mac. This year though I can honestly say I have found my perfect nude whatever the time of day or occasion, my perfect nude is Stark Naked by Urban Decay.

Before we discuss the lipstick itself, can I just show a little love to the packaging. I really appreciate the way Urban Decy present their products and this lipstick is no exception. It feels weighty in the hand, closes with a gratifying click and best of all, it looks really classy in it’s iconic black and purple case. I know its what is inside that matters most but I like my makeup to look great even before I put it on.

I am a huge fan of the way matte lipstick looks but I am not always a fan of how it feels. The Matte Revolution range has really nailed the formula though – these lipsticks feel so creamy on the lips, and apply smoothly with no dragging at all. Weartime is amazing too – I got more than 6 hours from one application although I have to be honest, after about 4 hours, it did start to feel a litttle drying on my lips. For lipstick this good though, thats a price I am happy to pay.

What makes Stark Naked the perfect nude though is not its impressive wear time, nor its creamy formula or luxurious packaging. What makes it so good is that it is a highly pigmented, light tawny nude with warm peach undertones that will work  with just about any make up look. They even got the name just right!

Stark Naked by Urban Decay, it really is my perfect nude.
