The little set of drawers pictured above is where I keep my make up collection. It is from Ikea and its called the Helmer. I would of course have preferred the Alex, which is every bloggers favourite it seems but at the time I was short of cash and space and so the Helmer it was. Over the next few weeks, I am going to take you on a little tour through my makeup collection starting with the top drawer which contains all of my lip products.
In the lipstick drawer, I store all of my lip products including balms, tints, lipsticks and glosses. There are far to many to feature in just one post so today I thought I would show you my red lipsticks.
Loved by Lou Lessage is a product I got in a My Little Box some months ago and as you can see I wear it a lot. It looks and feels like a lip balm but is really highly pigmented so gives a real pop of colour to the lips in a very wearable way. This is a perfect product if love the look of red lipsticks but are not sure you can pull it off.
The next product is one I have been in love with for years. In fact the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Mightiest Marschino was one of the first products I ever featured on my blog. Check out my cringe-worthy review here. Still love the lippy though!
This next product is another from My Little Box. It is a lip and cheek tint but isn’t a liquid like the benetint, it is more of a mousse texture which makes it much easier to work with. The best thing about the Colour Hybrid is it gives you that flushed outdoorsy natural look and lasts all day long.
Usually though, when I am going for red lips I go for a lipstick and when I do, I always pair it with a lip pencil from Mac in the shade Cherry. I find that it works with any red from the brightest to the deepest, evening out my lips and helping my lipstick last much longer.
I have never noticed before that all of my red lipsticks are from Mac.
Five red lipsticks from the same brand might seem excessive but look how different they all are.
From left to red; So Chaud, Dangerous, Viva Glam Rihanna, Ruby Woo and Relentlessly Red.
Finally I have one single lipgloss, Assassin by Urban Decay. I usually hate lipglosses but I had to make an exception for this one, the colour is just to die for, don’t you think? The pigmentation of this product is so strong that you can wear it on its own for a bold glossy lip, but when I really want to pull out all the stops, I layer it over one of my red lipstick for some old school Hollywood glamour.
So those are all of my red lipsticks – what do you think? Is your favourite red amongst them?
If not, please share your favourite in the comments below x
