So finally I managed to pick up August’s My Little Box from the post office about 4 days after it arrived – excited!!! I am quite proud of myself for managing to resist a sneaky peek at some of my fellow BOXers blogs to check out what’s inside. I can’t say I wasn’t tempted, but I made it. So here goes…
Unusually for a subscription box, the magazine inside My Little Box each month is not just a collection of adverts, it is actually a really good read. I also adore each month’s illustration and plan to have a few of my favourites framed and hung on the wall around my desk.
Who doesn’t need hair ties and look at how pretty these are…. Like the packaging says, these are ties that I will be happy to wear on my wrists.
Next out of the box is this lip product from So Susan. It describes itself as suitable for both the lips AND the cheeks but for me it is far too pigmented for the face but as a lip cream it is AMAZING. It has the texture of a mousse but dries immediately so you can’t feel it on your lips at all. But boy can you see it! This is not for the faint hearted. It is a highly pigmented red in that perfect blue toned shade to give you a bright, white. Towie smile. One word of warning though, use a lip brush to apply it. This product lasts forever so if you get it on your fingers, it is a nightmare to remove. Take my word for it, I found out the hard way. Take a little care with the application though and you have a killer lip that lasts all day.
I don’t have much to say about this travel sized body milk by Korres but it is a really lovely product that absorbs easily and smells delicious! Perfect for travelling!
I was a little bit scared of this blusher when I first pulled it out of the box, it looked so dark that I really didn’t think it was going to work on my skin tone. I had to try it though so I used a big fluffy brush and a very light hand and I was actually thrilled with the results. The product is completely matte so could work well for contouring but for me, the reddish tone in it makes it a perfect bronzer, leaving my skin looking like I have just stepped off a plane from Marbella when in fact I have spent the summer in the wettest Glasgow since records began!!!
But I have saved the best till last. I never expected to own anything from Antik Batik but now I do – courtesy of my Little Box. Fusing European and Indonesian influences, Baitk is known for his romantic designs and colorful prints and this is the perfect example. This time next week, I will be exploring Morrocco and this will be perfect to take sight seeing. HIPPY CHIC!!!
Well done to the people behind My Little Box – this month was a triumph!!
