Weight Loss Wednesday and My Fitness Challenge

So once again it is Wednesday and time to review my week’s weight loss efforts. I would say this week has in the main gone really well although I did have a somewhat indulgent night out on Friday that started with fizz as we got ready, progressed through cocktails, dinner with wine followed by cheese then a night of drinking and dancing on a rather splendid light up dance floor. As you can see in the photograph above, I wore quite a little black dress and if I am honest I was pretty self conscious about my legs but on the whole I felt good about my weight loss and motivated to keep going until I reach my ideal weight. 

So apart from Friday I stuck to plan pretty well. I wasn’t alcohol free but I was sugar free, gluten free and wheat free.

Exercise wise I was pretty poor but more on that later.

So how did I do when I stepped on the scales this morning?
I am happy to say I have lost another pound making a total of 36 lbs lost with 13 lbs to lose. Can I do it in 2014? I am certainly going to give it my best shot! How lovely to see in 2015 at a healthy weight.

As you guys know I have been doing a little slow jogging a few mornings a week. I do it because it helps regulate my blood sugar which helps curb cravings and because it burns calories and helps tone my stomach, legs and bum. I rarely run far and I never run fast and if I am honest I don’t really enjoy it. But this week I received a challenge. And I find it hard to resist challenges. Even if they seem absolutely impossible to achieve. In fact ESPECIALLY if they seem impossible to achieve.

So what is the challenge?

To run a HALF MARATHON!

And I accepted the challenge!!!

Yup me who gets red and sweaty after a couple of miles has agreed to attempt to run over 13 miles.

The race is in October but as part of my training I am aiming first for a 10k in May. 

I started yesterday and managed about 4k. But I was pretty exhausted, and am already stiffening up.

Oh dear!

I am really motivated to do it though and would be so grateful if anyone of you would sponsor me. My best friend and my dearest Dad both died of cancer so I am running this race for McMillan’s Cancer Support. You can read my story and sponsor me here.
